Norwegian Greentech secures Greenland-contract

Written by NGT editor | Jul 7, 2025 6:30:00 AM

Norwegian Greentech Secures Contract to deliver five container-based water purification systems to isolated communities in Greenland.

The project is a key initiative to ensure access to clean drinking water in areas where infrastructure is fragile and conditions are demanding. The systems will serve as robust backup units, enhancing emergency preparedness for residents in one of the world’s most inaccessible locations.

Each unit is specifically designed to be under 1,000 kg, enabling helicopter transport to places with no road or sea access. To endure Greenland’s extreme climate, the units are delivered in specially adapted aluminium containers equipped with electric heating systems, ensuring operational reliability in Arctic conditions. The solutions are designed for easy installation, allowing for quick deployment with minimal need for local adaptation.

“This project is being delivered in close collaboration with our partner KJ, which has extensive experience in infrastructure projects in Arctic regions. Together, we combine technical expertise and local knowledge to meet the needs of users in one of the world’s most demanding environments,” says Jorge Giraldo Lozano, sales manager at Norwegian Greentech.

Delivery of all five systems will take place during the period from October 2025 to January 2026.

“Clean water is a human right, no matter where you live. We are proud to contribute with technology that provides safe drinking water to people in remote parts of Greenland. This project is a great example of how modern technology can bring tangible improvements to people’s daily lives,” Lozano concludes.
