06 May 2026 – Norwegian Greentech AS (NGT) has, over many years, established a strong position as a leading supplier of advanced water treatment systems to the global maritime industry. Its technology is now increasingly being applied in land-based environments.
With its origins as a supplier of maritime equipment, where reliability, robustness and proven performance are critical, the company has developed technology capable of withstanding the most challenging conditions. The supply of pressure filters for intake water treatment at Salmon Evolution’s new Phase 2 land-based facility represents an important milestone in this development.
For Norwegian Greentech, the project is not only another successful delivery; it is a clear demonstration of how the company’s core expertise in water treatment is being transferred into new and rapidly growing markets.

The delivery to Salmon Evolution’s new land-based facility, Phase 2, demonstrates how Norwegian Greentech’s water treatment expertise is being applied in new and expanding markets.
"Land-based aquaculture is a natural extension of what we already do well. Our technology has been developed over many years under strict requirements for quality and reliability, providing a solid foundation for land-based production environments,” says Børge Gjelseth, SVP Commercial at Norwegian Greentech.
NGT has supplied pressure filters for Salmon Evolution, forming a key component of the intake water treatment system. The contract is between Norwegian Greentech and Artec Aqua VAQ AS, and forms part of Artec Aqua’s overall delivery to the facility.
Each filter has a capacity of 3,600 cubic metres per hour and is designed to deliver stable and efficient treatment of intake water, with low maintenance requirements. The solutions are engineered with a focus on long-term operation, predictability and seamless integration into complex facilities.

“Land-based aquaculture is a natural extension of what we already do well,” says Børge Gjelseth, SVP Commercial at Norwegian Greentech.
Reliable operations
Norwegian Greentech has previously delivered more than 900 treatment systems to vessels worldwide, including over 40 process water systems for live fish carriers. This experience has given the company a unique understanding of water quality, biological risk, and the consequences of operational downtime – expertise now applied to modern land-based aquaculture facilities.
“We are committed to being a long-term and knowledgeable partner for our clients. For us, it is not just about delivering equipment, but about contributing to solutions that ensure reliable operations, strong fish welfare and sustainable production over time,” says Gjelseth.
The Salmon Evolution project is the first of several planned land-based deliveries from Norwegian Greentech and serves as an important reference project in a rapidly evolving market. It also underlines the company’s ambition to take a clear position within advanced water treatment for aquaculture, regardless of whether production takes place at sea or on land.
With strong technological expertise, a proven track record and a clear focus on sustainability and quality, Norwegian Greentech is now taking the next step – from maritime niches into the future of aquaculture.
